4. AI and Image Processing
When you use our visual search feature:
- Your uploaded images are processed by our AI models to generate visual embeddings (mathematical representations) for product matching
- Images are temporarily stored during processing and may be retained to improve our search accuracy
- We do not use facial recognition technology
- Visual embeddings are stored separately from personally identifiable information
- You can request deletion of your search history and associated images at any time
5. Commission Tracking and Affiliate Data
We participate in affiliate programs with brand and retail partners. Affiliate tracking is used so POPOUT can earn commissions from partners when qualifying purchases are attributed to our links—not to pay users at launch. Users do not receive a share of affiliate earnings at this time.

Affiliate Partners:
Retail partners receive anonymized click and conversion data. Brand partners may receive aggregated search volume data (e.g., "your brand was searched 200 times this month") without individual user identification.
Legal Requirements:

- To protect the rights, safety, and property of POPOUT, our users, or the public
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to users)
Community Features:
Content you post publicly (outfit photos, identifications) is visible to other users. Your username and profile photo are displayed alongside your contributions.
7. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:
- Account data: retained until you delete your account
- Search images: temporarily processed, retained up to 90 days for service improvement, then deleted
- Visual embeddings: retained to improve search accuracy (not linked to personal identity)
- Usage analytics: retained in aggregated, anonymized form indefinitely
After account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information:
